DC Music Census

"Simply put, Music Matters in the District of Columbia. The musicians, the venue owners, the educators, the technicians, all areas of the music economy are important to who we are as a city. As the underlying component of my 202Creates initiative, supporting the DC creative community and economy is vital and the DC Music Census augments those efforts,” - Mayor Muriel Bowser. "

a plan and not quite enough time.

Quote block #1

supporting the growth of the dc music community

The Bowser Administration has launched the first ever DC MUSIC CENSUS!! The DC Office of Cable TV, Film, Music and Entertainment has partnered with Georgetown University on The DC Census, the first of its kind for the District. Couple extra details

This online questionnaire has been created and will be analyzed by Sound Music Cities.  They are collecting your answers anonymously. We won't ask any personal identifiers so it cannot be connected to you.

To participate, we do ask that you:

1) live within the DMV metro area,
2) have a professional interest in music
(such as work creatively in music, or participate
in any music-related product or service industry), and
3) answer questions as accurately and truthfully to the best of your ability.

Our test respondents completed this questionnaire in about 10 minutes. It works on a desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone. Questions are mainly multiple choice and quantitative, but we don't just want numbers. There will be open-ended questions as well and we hope you will share important thoughts in your own words.

It is recommended to complete the census in one sitting, but you don’t have to rush – it won’t time out. If you have an interruption, you can simply come back later and pick up where you left off, as long as you use the same computer, tablet or smartphone, and leave the browser open. That said, please try to get all the way through to the final SUBMIT button before the census officially closes in May.

Please contact us at XXXXXX if you have questions about this survey. Thank you!
